USPS Hero: Letter Carrier Responds to a Cry for Help
While delivering mail in Mason City, IL, Letter Carrier Jayden Wise heard a desperate cry for help. Acting swiftly, Wise followed the sound and found a customer who had fallen from a ladder and was in severe pain.

Without hesitation, Wise called 911 and stayed by the injured customer’s side until paramedics arrived. Thanks to his quick response, emergency personnel were able to provide timely assistance.
The customer, who suffered several broken bones, is now recovering.
Jayden Wise’s heroic actions exemplify the dedication and compassion of USPS employees. Through the Postmaster General Heroes’ Program, employees who go above and beyond in service to their communities receive letters of commendation.
