This guide shows you how to check your leave balance online, whether you’re a career or non-career USPS worker.

What You’ll See in the Leave Summary
Your ePayroll Leave Summary typically shows:
- Annual Leave (AL) balance – Total available paid time off
- Sick Leave (SL) balance – Time available for medical use
- LWOP (Leave Without Pay) – Time taken without pay
- Use or Lose – Leave that must be used before year-end to avoid loss
- Leave Earned This Period – Based on service time
Tip: Understand Your Accrual Rate
Career USPS employees earn annual leave based on length of service:
- Less than 3 years – 4 hours per pay period (13 days/year)
- 3–15 years – 6 hours per pay period (20 days/year)
- 15+ years – 8 hours per pay period (26 days/year)
Non-career employees (PSE, CCA, RCA) may earn leave at a different rate or accrue annual leave based on hours worked.
Need to Check Past Leave?
